Home to the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters, the Monte-Carlo Country Club is rich in history. Located in the French Riviera, the Monte-Carlo Country Club was built in 1928 at the urging of tennis enthusiast George Pierce Butler. He watched Suzanne Lenglen play in the Monte-Carlo tournament on courts built on a garage roof and demanded more for the star player. “Her star status deserves a jewel not only a simple roof on top of a garage,” Butler is to have said. His urging resulted in the opening of the art deco style Monte-Carlo Country Club.
Today, the club is home to 21 clay courts, a swimming pool, sauna, putting greens, and a Club House restaurant. Set alongside the Mediterranean, the Club’s stunning seaside views are best enjoyed from the Club House terrace.
